What is a CSA?
CSA stands for community supported agriculture. Being a member of a CSA gives you access to the freshest and most local vegetables, including items you may not be able to find in grocery stores. By giving farmers assurance of support, collectively you are working towards a small scale sustainable food system.
How long will this operate?
18-20 weeks, running bi-weekly (for a total of 10 vegetable boxes throughout the season from roughly the beginning of June until mid to late October).
What is payment like?
You can pay in full at the beginning of the season, or in instalments throughout the season (paying for 2 boxes each instalment). If you choose to pay in instalments and pay through our website for your first instalment, the following payments will be made via e-transfer, or cash on delivery to avoid service charges.
What will I be receiving in a box?
We offer three different shares: a greens share ($35 for a box of an assortment of greens), a small share ($35 for a box of a medley of vegetables and greens) and a large share ($55 for a box of a larger medley of vegetables and greens) all ranging in variety and seasonality.
An example large share box in the spring could have: arugula, lettuce, radish, turnip, green onion, spinach, bok choy, rapini, carrot, and microgreens whereas a large box in late summer could have: potato, bell pepper, leek, beans, squash, tomato, cabbage, carrot, beet, garlic, and radicchio.
Along with the vegetable box, you will receive recipes for each goodie included!
How do I get my box?
We deliver it right to you on a bi-weekly schedule, every other Thursday. For each delivery, you needn’t be home— as long as a cooler is left outside in a nice shady spot.
When do I hear from you regarding what vegetables are in my box?
We will send out an email at the beginning of the week letting you know what is to come, as well as a reminder to leave out a cooler.
We deliver right to your door as long as you live in Canning, Port Williams, Greenwich, Wolfville, or Windsor
